Public Safety Canada Grants Financial Contribution to the Association des Radioamateurs del’Abitibi-Témiscamingue for the « SAR Mesh » Project

Val-d’Or, 2025-02-20 — The Association des Radioamateurs de l'Abitibi-Témiscamingue is pleased
to announce that it will receive a financial contribution of $46,408.00 from Public Safety
Canada. This funding, granted under the Search and Rescue New Initiatives Fund (SAR NIF), will
support the innovative project "SAR Mesh (Collaboration and Geolocation in Search and Rescue)."
The SAR Mesh project aims to enhance search and rescue operations through an autonomous
operation management and communication platform, enabling better collaboration among
responders and improved geolocation of rescue teams. This financial support will allow the
association to strengthen its operational capabilities and improve responder safety during
search and rescue missions in the Abitibi-Témiscamingue region.
The Association des Radioamateurs de l'Abitibi-Témiscamingue thanks Public Safety Canada for
this significant contribution and is committed to continuing its work in service of the community
and public safety.
